CM-FS913S-6 Mid-turbinate Nasal Flocked Swabs
Cleanmo's CM-FS913S-6 Mid-turbinate swab is anatomically engineered collection device that specifically targets the mid-turbinate region of the nasal passageway. The length and design of the swab allows for consistent specimen collection. The unique conical shape and use of Flocked technology combine to provide an increased surface area with greater particle retention than traditional swabs. Sprayed on nylon fibers provide a velvet-like texture that serves to both disrupt and capture pathogenic particles. When placed in transport media, a high percentage of sampled particles are released as opposed to traditional swabs that trap particles within their fibers. Higher yields are achieved, improving the accuracy of diagnostic testing.

Instructions for Use
● Remove the swab from pouch and hold by the handle.
● Identify the breakpoint and stopping point.
● Tilt your head slightly back.
● Gently insert the swab in your right nostril until the collar/safety stopping point touches the outside of your nose.
● Remove the swab but do not lay the swab down.
● Place the swab in the tube.
● Break the swab handle at the breakpoint and throw swab handle in the garbage bin.
● Wash your hands with soap and water.
Advantage vs Nasopharyngeal sample collection
● They are more comfortable for patients because they don't need to reach as far back into the nasal passage as nasopharyngeal swabs to obtain a sample.
● A mid turbinate swab is generally the appropriate sample when testing older children aged over 2 years or Adult in the community for SARS-CoV-2.
● Patients can collect a sample themselves with a mid-turbinate swab for COVID-19 testing, while self-collection is not an option with nasopharyngeal swabs. That means patients can collect their sample at home, or they can come to a clinical setting and perform self-collection with supervision from a health care professional who can coach them on proper technique from a safe distance.
